Chances With Wolves
I couldn't sleep the other night and I fell instead into an internet rabbit hole, which started somewhere on the Paris Review and ended on finding this amazing radio show called Chances With Wolves. Where two DJ's play strange old records and mix in occasional wolf howls and echoes.

Sheep, Dog & Wolf - Ablutophobia.
Daniel Mcbride solo recorded this in his makeshift garage home bedroom studio at 17, borrowing instruments from friends and finding them online. He then taught himself cello and euphonium just because to him they were essential to the song.

Amtiseptique
I was excited to discover an old newspaper article about a Hermit who used to live in this little craggy beach bay corner in Wellington for about 17 years in the late 1800s. I was so disappointed to find the cave destroyed to make way for a new road, as I wanted to find it and crawl inside. Instead, I found this beautiful photograph to fill the void of my newfound fascination & wonder about this mysterious recluse.

This is a matchbox shaped antiseptic cream box I found rummaging in a banana box labelled tins in an antique shop. It reminded me of this book I want to one day own called Fake Love Letters, Forged Telegrams, and Prison Escape Maps. Which is about the intricate design of objects for film sets. I love there are so many extraordinary jobs which we never think exist. I saw an article in the newspaper which I cut out the other day about a teachers job on a remote island called Pitt - 800km from the south island of New Zealand, there are only 3 children at the school, you have access to a quad bike, a cottage and the island is completely Covid19 free! What a dream!
